The convertible exterior has received the same changes as the coupe, including the new bumpers with additional aerodynamic elements made of carbon fiber that increased the pushing force by 130 percent.
At the same time, the active rear aileron now adjusts automatically in three positions, increasing the pushing force by 50 percent compared to the predecessor’s aileron. Optionally, the new Aventador S Roadster is also available with the center-mounted Aventador SV rims. Also made from carbon fiber are the two detachable roof halves, the front pillars, and the mirrors bodies.
Inside, there is a new digital dashboard, which can be configured to the liking of the driver, carbon fiber inserts, and the choice of new leather combinations. The multimedia system receives a new touch screen and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
The naturally aspirated V12 engine with a 6.5-liter cylinder now delivers 740 hp (+40 hp) and 690 Nm torque, with the top speeds rising from 8,350 to 8,500 rpm. The complexity of the rear suspension adds weight, which has been balanced with a new 20% lighter exhaust system. Thus, the weight of the new Aventador S Roadster remains at the same level – 1.625 kg (50 kg more than the coupe).
The same can be said about performance – the convertible supercar accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds and the maximum speed it can reach is 350 km/h.
The new Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster will debut on the European market in February 2018 with a starting price of 313,666 euros.
