The company firstly revealed this plan in Monte Carlo when it suggested launching the Renault Alpine A110 Berlinette. This concept has also given an idea to the company to launch another sports car at some later date but it has been seen that their lips are sealed on this matter. The officials have not disclosed anything yet.
This concept is being called as 2012 Renault Alpine A110-50. What many of the people do not know is that it is based on the 2010 Renault DeZir plan. Other than this, this concept also is based on the features of the original A110.
2012 Renault Alpine A110-50 will be designed as a racing car and the Renault Sport Technologies will be going to assist the company in developing the concept. Much of the specifications and features included in the car will take inspiration from the personal experience of the manufacturers. They will be making the engine by what they learned when they took part in the Megane race. The engineers have aimed to produce such a concept that is not just brilliant, but it is ultimate in performance too.
Moving on the exterior of the car, its front side will be featuring a whole new look whereas its body will have components similar to that of A110. When air is taken in from the side of the vehicle, the sides of the car echo. The right side of the car will have a gearbox whereas the left will have the engine cove.
The body of the car is made from carbon and it will be painted with a unique blue shade. The doors of the car on the other hand are featured by the scissor motion. The car from the inside also contains carbon fiber. The steering wheel of the vehicle works with the similar formula as that of other racing cars of Renault. Integrated air-filled jacks are also included in the concept.
Let’s not forget the powertrain of the car. It features 3.5 liter V 6 engine having 400 horsepower along with 311 pound feet torque. Wheels of the car are of twenty one inches having 6-piston brake calipers. They house 356 mm discs in the front whereas 330 mm discs at the back. The chassis of the car include adjustable dampers too.
People are very much excited that Renault is going to launch a sports vehicle. They say that even if the car meets up half of the claims that have been made, they will accept it happily. But we sure hope that the 2012 Renault Alpine A110-50 does not prove to be disappointment. That will be known when this model actually hits the showrooms. Till then, we can just hope that we are not disappointed by the outcomes.
