Renault and Mercedes engines parts

According to Autocar , Renault-Nissan 1.6-liter diesel engine their lending to Mercedes-Benz in exchange for a 2.0-liter gasoline engine of the German mark.

Mercedes-Benz and Renault-Nissan are joining forces. The new Mercedes A-and B-Class will be available in the future with the 128pk, 1.6-liter turbo diesel engine that delivers Renault. In return shall be Mercedes 2.0-liter gasoline engine and the range V6 and V8 engines available to Renault-Nissan. The sub-brand Infiniti will this most likely benefit. Further, the two companies work closely together on a range of a new three-cylinder and four cylinder engines would be used by Mercedes, Smart, Renault and Nissan. These are both petrol and diesel engines with a displacement of 1.2 to 1.8 liters. Daimler will account for the development, while Renault would build the engines. The whole engine swap is part of the agreement that both brands earlier this year signed.
