Presenting Next Generation Aston Martin Vantage

The name Vantage was first used by Aston Martin in 1951 to designate the DB2 top engine variant. Over time, Vantage has become a self-standing model, defined by pure sportiness, as Aston Martin likes to remind us.

The new generation Vantage has a V8 engine from Mercedes-AMG. This V8 twin turbo with a displacement of 4 liters is adjusted by British taste. It delivers 510 hp at 6,000 rpm and torque of 685 Nm between 2,000 and 5,000 rpm. The engine was positioned as low and as close as possible to the center of the car, so that an equal weight distribution between the axles (50:50) was obtained. The car weighs 1,530 kg.

Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through the ZF automatic transmission wit 8 speeds. The result is a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h of 3.6 seconds on its way to a maximum speed of 314 km/h.

Sporting behavior is managed through various electronic systems. In addition to the systems that control its stability and torque, the Vantage is equipped with an electronic rear differential and an electric steering system that adapts to the running speed. We also got an adaptive damping system that offers three control modes: Sport, Sport Plus and Track.

All this highlights a structure with glued aluminum elements, which was derived from the Aston Martin DB11, but has 70 percent of new components. In addition, Pirelli created special P Zero tires for the new Vantage.

The new Aston Martin Vantage will be delivered starting spring of 2018 at prices going from 154,000 euros, in Germany at least.
