Porsche Introduces New 911 And Boxster Version: Black Edition

Porsche has designed a special series Black Edition for the 911 Carrera and Boxster. The combination of black finishes, both outside and inside, give a touch of elegance but also additional sportiness for models that are already very popular.

Those at Porsche continue the tradition of Black Edition Boxster and 911 models, which were confirmed to be highly popular on previous generations for both models. The new Boxster Black Edition and 911 Black Edition are available with the basic motorization that gives them a touch of modern luxury.

Thus, the Boxster Black Edition is only available with a 2.7-liter engine with 265 hp and the 911 Black Edition is available for the 911 Carrera, 911 Carrera 4, 911 Carrera Cabriolet and 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet, all equipped with the same propellant displacing 3.4 liters and rated at 350 hp.

It has an indoor and outdoor theme, based on black, and enjoys a list of amenities more generous than the standard equipment. The new combination between the exterior and interior painted in black is intended to emphasize the timeless elegance of the Porsche 911 and Boxster sports cars.

Both models in the Black Edition version show a black exterior color and the interior trims are all the same color. In addition to those mentioned above, the Black Edition versions for both models is equipped with a Sport Design steering wheel, cruise control, rain sensor, central mirror with automatic anti-dazzle function and the Porsche Communication Management System (PCM) with navigation module.

The Porsche 911 Carrera Black Edition is based on a 3.4-liter engine that develops a maximum power of 350 hp (257 kW) and is available for both the coupe version and convertible, while traction adopts the Porsche Classic (driven rear axle) solution, or that found on the Carrera 4 models (four wheel drive).
Also, 20-inch wheels will be offered as standard, with a design similar to that found on Turbo models and LED headlights using Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus technology (PDLs +).

Inside, designers sought to provide a more sophisticated atmosphere for passengers. A high-fidelity sound system was provided by Bose, accompanying the standard incorporated seats heating system and the Park Assist system.

The Porsche Boxster Black Edition is likewise equally attractive. The Roadster with a central engine is inspired by the 2.7-liter boxster unit that produces 265 hp (195 kW). The Black theme is preserved both for the textile pavilion color, as well as the safety arcs behind the seats. A wind deflector comes as standard and 20-inch wheels are borrowed from the Carrera range. Among the equipment on the new Boxster Black Edition we have: bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLs), dual zone air-conditioning system and heated seats, and a high-end audio system (Sound Package Plus).

On Germany’s home market the new Porsche 911 and Boxster can already be bought at the following basic prices: Boxster Black Edition – 59,477 euro; 911 Carrera Black Edition – 95,058 euro; 911 Carrera 4 Black Edition – 101,484 euro; 911 Carrera Cabriolet Black Edition – 105,530 euro and 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet Black Edition – 111,956 euro.
