Under the hood there is a bi-turbo boxer engine, 515 kW (700 hp). With a weight of 1,470 kg with full tank, the 911 GT2 RS accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 340 km/h.
Thanks to the propulsion system, similar to that of the motorsport, the new 911 GT2 RS has an advantage of 59 kW (80 hp) compared to its predecessor with a displacement of 3.6 liters, developing a torque of 750 Nm (50 Nm extra).
The engine is based on the engine with a 3.8 liters displacement on the 911 Turbo S, which generates 427 kW (580 hp).
To increase performance, the large-volume turbochargers push a larger volume of air into the combustion chambers. A new additional cooling system ensures optimal ventilation when the engine is overloaded, and at very high temperatures splashes the intercooler with water.
Thus, the temperature of the mixture reaches the overpressure range, delivering optimal power even under extreme conditions. The customized twin-clutch PDK GT transmission, with seven reports on the new GT2 RS, allows power to be transferred without interruption. In addition, the exhaust system, specially made of ultra-light titanium, weighs about seven kilograms less than the one used on the 911 Turbo.
