The new generation Panamera is lowered by 20 mm at the roofline level, is 34 mm longer, and 6 mm wider, while the front wheels are pushed to the extreme front of the car, creating an even more dynamic look. The wheelbase has increased by 30 mm to 2,950 mm and of course the icing on the cake comes from the rear, where the new Panamera has received some very successful drawn details that will immediately distinguish it in traffic. Something more discreet, are the lines on the hood barely noticeable.
The interior is extremely technologized with a lot of conventional commands being transferred to the digital world and can be controlled via new interfaces called Porsche Advanced Cockpit. Meanwhile, Porsche designers ensure that new orders remained at least as intuitive and direct as Porsche owners are accustomed to today.
It was known that the new Panamera will debut with a new V8 twin turbo engine with a displacement of 4.0 liters. Well, this engine will find place under the hood of the most powerful versions – Panamera Turbo – and will develop some 550 hp and 770 Nm of torque. With this engine the Panamera Turbo will catch the first hundred kilometers in just 3.8 seconds, and if you scratch off the Sport Chrono Package too, the sprint to 100 km / h will take just 3.6 seconds.
For the first time, the new generation Porsche Panamera comes with a diesel engine combined with the four-wheel drive system of the brand. It comes from a new V8 diesel engine that develops 422 hp and 850 Nm of torque, which will go under the hood of the Panamera 4S Diesel version. The Porsche Panamera 4S Diesel will reach the first hundred kilometers in 4.5 seconds, or 4.3 seconds with the Sport Chrono package!
Both turbines have variable geometry and one of them is always active, which radically improves the response of the new engine.
The list of implanted technologies in the new Panamera generation is very large. In a word, you can be absolutely sure that you have all the technologies, the most appreciated and desired today in the automotive world, and more. For example, the new Panamera is built almost entirely of aluminum and has significantly reduced weight, such that the most powerful version has a ratio of 3.6 kg per horsepower!
Inside, the form of interaction with digital technologies is so advanced that it fascinates everyone. Also, the digital surfaces sometimes integrate traditional interior materials in perfect symbiosis.
And last, but not least, the Porsche Panamera remains not only a conventional luxury sedan, but a coupe with four doors and four seats in fact, giving rear passengers an ultra-luxurious lobby area in the characteristic style which made popular the beloved predecessor of the new generation.
Lastly, let’s not forget about the declaration of being the fastest luxury sedan in the world! Yes, the new Porsche Panamera ran the Nurburgring track registering a time of 7 minutes and 38 seconds. A born winner!
