Mercedes-Benz is one of the builders who announced the premieres prepared for the Frankfurt Motor Show: AMG Project One, S-Class Facelift Convertible, S-Coupe Facelift, GLC F-Cell and EQ A Concept are the novelties prepared by the Germans.
The EQ electric concept occupies a special place in the Mercedes-Benz family, and today we can watch a first teaser clip with it. The prototype will use the MEA architecture, will have 5 seats, and will rely on a hatchback bodywork.
Most likely, the EQ A concept will be on the market in 2019 as a rival for the already famous and quite popular i3 from BMW.
The concept will be propelled by an electric motor that engages the front wheels. An eventual ultra-performance model will also benefit from a rear-engine engine for extra power and to ensure full thrust.
Sources close to the German manufacturer say that under the hood we will find a single electric motor. However, a performance version with two electric motors appears in German plans. The EQ A series version would be priced between 35,000 and 40,000 euros.
The German manufacturer’s EQ range will include 10 models by 2025, and the first family member will be an SUV. This was anticipated by the Generation EQ concept, a prototype we could admire at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
