While the U.S. must wait until 2018 to get it, the latest luxed-up fastback coupe released by Lexus is now available to order in the United Kingdom for £76, 595. And spending $95,413 on what many may call a beneficial alternative of the $125,812 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe seems decent enough. However, let’s also point out that both the LC 500 and the LC500h have the same price tag.
The S500 Coupe designed by the German competitor of the company has a twin-turbocharged 4.7-liter V8 with 700 Nm and 455 PS. Meanwhile, the Lexus model has a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 with 477 PS and 540 Nm. These numbers alone are more than enough to see the big difference between the two.
The LC500h, though, features a hybrid system along with a 3.5-liter Atkinson-cycle V6. When it comes to this model, Lexus brags about the total system output at 354 horsepower. It looks like 59 of those are coming due to the electric motor equipped with propulsion. Under the sheet metal, there’s another electric motor which acts as a generator, starter and engine speed controller.
Among the standard features of the vehicle, there are the same LED headlights and taillights that Lexus accustomed us with, just like the Lexus Premium Navigation. The 12 speaker audio system and the semi-aniline leather seats definitely bring a plus of comfort, just like the 10-way ventilated and heated front seats. And if that wasn’t enough, there are also five extras available to the UK clients: a Mark Levinson 13-speaker boombox, two go-faster packages, a color head-up display and metallic paint, just in case a Lexus wasn’t standing out from the crowd enough.
