The car is for city use and at the same time can handle rough terrain easy and now it has become lighter, stronger, safer and more functional.
American engineers have worked seriously on the aerodynamics of the car. Now, the coefficient of resistance has decreased by 9 percent and is equal to 0.357 Cd.
The front bumper incorporates an electronically operated spoiler that appears at more than 50 km/h and disappears below 25 km/h. Models that will be fitted with pneumatic suspension will automatically lower their ground clearance by 1.52 centimeters when driving at high speeds on the road.
We have only two engines for now. The first is an updated 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, which produces 305 hp and 365 Nm of torque. The second is a 5.7-liter V8 HEMI that produces 395 hp and 555 Nm of torque. All units are coupled to upgraded automatic gearboxes with eight gears. The traction can be on the rear axle or integral.
The largest engine benefits from disconnecting four of the eight cylinders. Later, the new Ram 1500 will be available with a 3.0 liter EcoDiesel V6.
The new Ram 1500, thanks to the new forces, is capable of towing a 5,760-kilogram trailer and can haul some 1,040 kilos. Earlier these figures were of 4,817 and 852 kg respectively.
Sales will begin in the first quarter of this year. Details of prices or equipment levels have not yet been disclosed.
