Honda Civic 1.8 GT MT6 – The last samurai

The specimen tested is equipped with a turbocharged1.8-liter i-VTEC, 140 hp. Although it is offered in a version with automatic transmission, we strongly recommend the manual of the six reports from Honda. This is the “last bastion” of textbooks, showing an excellent wheelhouse and a great natural setting. While still offering broadcast rivals who “cling” to shifting the gears of Civic allows very rapid speed changes without any fuss. Race exchanger is relatively short, and ergonomic lever is located. The engine performs surprisingly well at low speeds, although it feels best unit around the tachometer red zone.

Allowances provided by this model are comparable with turbo engines only during the first four steps, then Civic accelerate rapidly and less linear. Even so, the fifth step allows it to reach its full potential, while sixth gear helps you get a lower consumption of fuel. Reply to between 2000 and 4000 rpm acceleration is impressive, but the situation is changing as we move above this level and becomes even “explosive” when we approach the red line tachometer. When all five lights on the scale “REV” light up, 7200 rpm rev counter displays.

8.9 seconds. Three steps. Pedal to the floor. Blending the three elements, Honda Civic 1.8 GT achieved an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h. A Fiat Bravo 1.4 MultiAir require the same time to sprint out that, while Ford Focus1.6 150 hp EcoBoost, it surpasses both. 6 Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSI 160 PS model, is faster than the first two competitors, requiring only 8 seconds to reach 100 km / h. Opel Astra, Mazda3, Volvo C30 and Toyota Auris need more than 9.3 seconds to achieve the same acceleration. Peugeot 308 1.6THP facelift, 156 bhp model, manages to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in8.8 seconds, with just 0.1 seconds better than a Civic and a Fiat Bravo 140hp. Version 1.4 TJet’s 150 hp Lancia Delta is 0.1 seconds quicker than the Peugeot mentioned above.

At maximum speed, we have again equality between Honda Civic and Fiat Bravo 205/204 km / h, while the leader holds the title of Golf 220 km / h. In light of the above figures, we show that a Honda engine can be further drawn competitive, especially if it helps a gearbox properly leveled. Engines and transmissions The new test, Honda Civic enjoys the best soundtrack and best wheelhouse, and a start 000-100 km / h is very pleasing to the board of such a model.

When presenting the concept that foreshadowed the eighth generation of the Civic, nobody expected that some elements to reach mass production. These include discharges, front grille and door handles. Surprisingly, all these have come into production. The end of life of generations, the Civic has been the key to the Type R version, and the model still manages to turn heads on the street. Interior layout is also futuristic, but all items related to vehicle status shall reach for the driver, again showing the Japanese intelligent design from Honda.

Onset of next-generation Civic will take place at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011. The model has not yet shown to the European version, with only the version that will serve the Americans and Japanese. Futuristic aspect of this generation will be difficult to achieve, let alone overcome.

More than five years after onset, the Civic is a compact yet beautiful, modern and futuristic look.
