Fiat Group is performing better than expected

The Fiat Group in the second quarter of 2010 performed better than expected. The group doubled its operating profit.

In the second quarter 2010 operating profit came in at 651 million euros, compared with analysts expectations of a 380 million euro. Last year, the Fiat Group has accounted for an operating profit of 310 million euros. Net profit comes to 90 million euros, while Fiat in the second quarter of last year 170 million euro loss in the books to write. Revenues rose 12.5 percent to 14.8 billion euros. The Fiat Group continues to present its expectations for 2010, each one operating between 1.1 and 1.2 billion euros. But the projections are probably built in the third quarter.

The Fiat Group comprises an automotive division and industrial activities, the latter group would in future be listed separately on the stock as Fiat Industrial. Along side includes the Fiat industrial group truck maker Iveco, agricultural equipment manufacturer CNH and Fiat Powertrain. The automotive division includes the brands Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Ferrari of 85%. Chrysler is also the U.S. for 20% part of the group.
