Chinese manufacturer Chery announced in mid-August that it will re-launch in Europe with a new brand that will include only hybrid, plug-in hybrids and electric models. Two weeks later, the Asians also unveiled the sketch of the first revival model, which surprise-surprise, will take the form of an SUV.
Only a few days before the official launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Chery provided a series of technical details about the new model. It will be available in 3 propulsion versions: hybrid, hybrid plug-in and electric. The variant with plug-in hybrid system will reach 100 km/h in 6 seconds and will have a maximum speed of 200 km/h, while the fuel consumption will be 1.8 liters every 100 km.
Furthermore, the battery benefits from fast-charge technology and reaches an 80 % charge in 30 minutes, while charging at an ordinary power outlet will take about 4 hours.
Inside, Chery will equip the SUV with a 10-inch infotainment system that will benefit from a real-time navigation system. Also, as far as technology goes, we can mention a 360 degrees camera and various support systems, including parking.
In addition, Chery anticipates that the model will get 5 stars in the EuroNCAP safety tests, seeing that the model will also benefit from a collision protection system, a speed limiter, in addition to a system that detects the driver’s fatigue.
