Confirmed: BMW M8 coming at Le Mans racer

BMW has confirmed the arrival of the M8 by demonstrating an early prototype for the program of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

2 days ago, BMW unveiled the Concept Series 8, a harbinger of the new top coupé brand. Performance fans were hoping for a quick derived, and which is there. Confirming BMW yesterday in the program for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring demonstrated an early prototype of the M8.

The model was completely camouflaged but bears typical M characteristics. So were large air intakes and clearly the four pipes of the sport exhaust system. BMW also confirmed that the braking system of the M8 is adjusted.

“The development and evolution of the standard BMW 8 Series and M-model parallel”, says Frank van Meel, the Dutchman who is now chief executive at the M Division. That means it could also be the M8 already finished next year. Compared to the regular 8 Series receives the M8 track opportunities and generous servings extra dynamism, precision and agility.

For motorsport enthusiasts is another derivative on the agenda: the BMW M8 GTE, a race car that BMW Motorsport returns to Le Mans. The racing car would end in January 2018 already debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona.
