The newest member of the M family from BMW can be accessorized and customized with a rich range of aesthetic elements and additional technical items offered by BMW in the M Performance Parts package. With a roll cage and extra light signals the M2 became this year’s official MotoGP Safety Car.
Although the auto show in Detroit was its world premiere, the new BMW M2 continues to receive increased attention from BMW engineers and designers. Thus, the performance model based on the Series 2 Coupe receives a range of additional accessories grouped into the M Performance Parts package. They are designed to improve the aerodynamics and technical performance of one of the best compact models ever produced in the automotive industry.
The appendix range of elements and additional accessories offered by BMW under the dome of M Performance Parts contains both aesthetic elements, with an aerodynamic supplementary role and also additional parts to improve the performance.
It is worthwhile mentioning the carbon fiber elements, such as front spoiler annexes and the side skirts, rear diffuser and side mirror caps. The volume and sound personality developed by the exhaust system can also be modified using an intelligent system operable via Bluetooth and has two operating modes: Sport and Track.
M Performance suspension can lower the ride height of the car by up to 2 centimeters. The dampers are independently adjustable for the tastes of every driver who wants complete customization of the behavior of his car.
The brake pads have been amended too.The plates that are included in the M Performance Parts package are derived from those used by BMW cars in endurance racing.
Inside, the M Performance Parts package include floor mats, LED illuminated sills, stainless steel caps for pedals, two alternatives to the M2 sporty steering wheel (M Performance – with central display integrated into the steering wheel rim – and M Performance Pro, with adhesive areas, covered by Alcantara), and an interior aesthetic kit called M Performance Carbon.
Besides the above mentioned, the BMW M2 MotoGP Safety Car is seriously prepared to cope with racing circuits, on which pilots of the MotoGP championship in the 2016 season will drive safely.
It also has an extra splitter for the front bumper, a massive rear spoiler made of carbon fiber, flashing lights, LED lights front, protective cage, Recaro racing seats, and Schroth seat belt, with fastening in four points.
The rims, brake calipers, supports spoiler, protective cage and insert on the steering wheel have been painted in a golden hue, which is repeated on the seams from the inside too.
The new BMW M2 MotoGP Safety Car is equipped with the same turbo-aspirated engine with a displacement of 3.0 liters, a 6-cylinder in-line unit that develops 370 hp and allows the model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in the 4.3 seconds in combination with the robotic gearbox, M DCT.
