The BMW M760 Li xDrive brings back the Bavarian manufacturer to the top luxury class in direct combat with the most-fierce rival, the best-selling Mercedes S-Class. It is the first time that the 7 Series combines unique sensations offered by a V12 engine with the efficiency of an all-wheel drive system xDrive.
Interestingly, the BMW, M760Li xDrive will actually be offered exclusively with all-wheel 4 × 4 and only in long-wheelbase version bodywork. In contrast, the Mercedes-Benz S 600 L does not have the all-wheel drive 4MATIC, not even optionally.
The BMW M760Li xDrive model is equipped with a V12 M Performance engine with a displacement of 6.6 liters, which generates 600 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 800 Nm at 1,500 rpm. In other words, we are talking about an engine as powerful as the one on the newly launched model Alpina B7, which is only 30 hp more modest than its main rival, the Mercedes S65 AMG.
The maximum speed is electronically limited to 250 km / h, but can get to 305 km / h with the optional M Driver package, while acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h (0 to 96 mph) in 3.9 seconds and combined fuel consumption reaches 12.6 liters / 100 km. The version is equipped with a Steptronic automatic sports transmission, which has eight gears.
Thus, the Bavarians version is faster than the Mercedes Benz S65 AMG (630 hp) that accelerates in 4.3 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h (4.0 seconds for S63 AMG 4Matic), and 0.1 seconds slower than the Audi S8 plus (605 hp) that accelerates in 3.8 seconds to the first hundred kilometers.
From an aesthetic point of view, the BMW M760Li xDrive receives an exclusive finishing, Cerium Gray, which differentiates this version from previous ones. This type of finishing is applied to the contours of the radiator grille, front bumper, rear view mirrors caps, M logo side, door handle decorative bands, V12 badge on the C-pillar, decorative elements in the doors, but also for the boot lid handle.
As standard, the M760Li receives an aerodynamics M package, with M sports exhaust system, M Sport brakes, metallic blue color calipers and M emblem. In turn, the seats are upholstered in Nappa leather and the ceiling with Alcantara.
Those who want more elegance to the new M760Li xDrive can opt for the V12 Excellence package. At no additional cost, the V12 Excellence will provide a stylish presence due to the conventional bumpers fitted with chrome elements and 20 inch spokes rims, while dropping the name M760Li on the trunk lid, keeping only the V12 logo.
The interior of the V12 Excellence version is different thanks to a classic steering wheel with wood inserts, gradual speedometer up to 260 km / h, and a special pattern for leather upholstery. The sport exhaust system will be excluded from the list for a more elevated acoustic comfort.
