BMW Goodies At 2016 Paris Motor Show

The Paris Motor Show will be hosted between the 1st and 16th of October 2016 and will be the scene of some premieres for the new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo and the BMW i3, the latter getting a more powerful battery and extended range.

At the same time, the BMW Motorrad will host the electric scooter world premiere BMW C Evolution. It will have a battery with higher capacity and an enhanced range too. Also, BMW will use the Paris show to present the recently launched personal assistant for mobility, the BMW Connected app.

The new version of the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo combines the elegance of a coupe with the space specific for a luxurious sedan and a station wagon luggage capacity – all wrapped in an outer, clearly sportier shell. Three petrol engine and five diesel, in the motorization’s portfolio, providing substantially more power while consuming less fuel. All versions of engines with four cylinders in the BMW 325d range make their debut for the new model. Inside, the new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo is characterized by high quality materials, new user interface for the Professional navigation system coming directly from the BMW 7 Series, and superior connectivity for smartphones.

Within just three years, the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo became an important name in its class. The markets in China, Germany and the US are the main drivers of sales. For most customers, this is their first BMW car, showing that BMW opened a new market segment.

The newest version BMW i3 can travel a distance 50 percent greater than it previously did in a single charge. Higher storage density of lithium-ion cell battery gives the BMW i3 (94 Ah) a capacity of 33 kilowatt-hour (kWh). In the NEDC standard cycle, this equals a range of 300 kilometers, compared to the previously available distance of only 190 kilometers. Even in everyday use, in adverse weather conditions, which require the use of air conditioning or heating, the car is able to travel long distances of up to 200 km without being recharged.

By obtaining this impressive range, while providing the BMW flagship performance, the BMW i3 (94 Ah) sets a new benchmark in its segment. Besides the optional extras, BMW i offers new and more powerful charging stations, which can be installed in home garages. BMW i3 with the 60 Ah battery, first launch three years ago, will still be available for customers.

Also in the Paris Motor Show, BMW will present a new and exclusive version of the plug-in hybrid sports car: the BMW i8 Proton Dark Silver Edition.
For several years, BMW established a connection between driver and car through ConnectedDrive. In August 2016, BMW Connected was launched giving customers an all-encompassing digital concept that provides a perfect tool support for all aspects of personal mobility.
Using as a basis the flexible platform called Open Mobility Cloud, BMW Connected perfectly integrates the car and other communication solutions such as an iPhone or Apple Watch in the user’s digital life.

The BMW Connected release focuses primarily on management for car travel, featuring digital products and services designed to simplify above all the daily planning of driving routes and meetings. Thus, BMW Connected helps users reach their destination on time and minimize stress.
