Audi Aicon is a D segment sedan that measures 5,444 millimeters in length, is 2,100 millimeters wide and 1,506 millimeters high. The wheelbase is 3,470 millimeters, about 240 millimeters longer than the Audi A8 flagship.
Audi Aicon stands out through its bodywork design thanks to oblique lines. The rims have a generous size of 26 inches, and are positioned as much as possible in an exterior position, an element that emphasizes the aggressive character of the concept.
Because it is completely autonomous, Audi Aicon does not have classical optical blocks. Both short and long beams are lacking, as there are projectors that illuminate the road and project signals on the running surface. Aicon uses radar and laser systems to “read” the road, even in the dark – when passengers leave the car in the dark, a mini-droning lantern lights the way for them. Also, it deals away with the steering wheel and pedals completely.
The propulsion system is fully electric, consisting of four electric motors producing a total of 260 kW, equivalent to 354 horsepower, while the torque is 550 Nm. Each engine drives a wheel and braking energy is also recovered to increase range.
Audi did not mention the battery capacity, but did mentions a range between 700 and 800 kilometers. Thanks to 800-volt system, the battery charges up to 80 percent in just 30 minutes and charging can also be done wireless.
