The new Renault Mégane opts for the crossover body shape and a pure electric E-TECH Electric variant!
With the eVISION Concept, Renault already gave a clear hint to the (near) future. Now the French are coming up with new footage of a prototype that will follow/replace the Mégane. It is particularly striking that the classic hatchback body shape is exchanged for the hipper/higher crossover variant.
In addition, a pure electric variant will be available on the brand new CMF EV platform of De Alliantie (Renault + Nissan + Mitsubishi). The electric motor is 217 hp / 300 Nm strong and sends its power to the front axle. With a 60 kWh battery pack, an autonomy of 450 km (WLTP) would be achievable. You should be able to charge up to 150 kW on a powerful fast charger.
This summer, Renault will send dozens of prototypes of the Mégane E-TECH Electric onto the public road for better testing throughout Europe. Furthermore, they are silent about a launch date (2022?) and a possible price tag. The current Mégane generation is already available as an E-TECH Plug-in Hybrid .
