2018 Ford Mustang: a Brand New Face And Features

The future seems bright, especially if we’re looking at the 2018 Ford Mustang. From speed to modern styling changes, updated technology and a 10-speed automatic, what’s there not to like?

To begin with, the design of the vehicle has definitely suffered a few changes. According to Ford, the new styling makes the Mustang much more ‘athletic.’ The new hood in the front, as well as the grille, give a more leaner overall look to the vehicle. The face of the car also got LED front lights (signature lighting included!), projector high-beams and fog lamps.

The rear of the Mustang mostly remained the same in terms of design. There were, though, a couple of small updates, including the LED taillights, new bumpers and a performance spoiler. Also, while the Mustang GT, which is V8-powered, benefits from a quad-tip exhaust, the EcoBoost Mustang has a dual-tip one.

The centre console of the vehicle has a hand-stitched wrap and padded knee bolsters as extra features. The door handles, the rings, as well as bezels, are polished with aluminium, while the instrument panel has a brand new Mustang badge. As for other technology updates, the new Mustang comes with an optional 12-inch LCD screen that replaces the usual gauges in front of the driver. Furthermore, the driver gets plenty of options to change the displays by using the normal, sport and track modes available.

Significant changes were also made under the hood when it comes to the 2018 Mustang. Probably the most significant change in this area is the naturally-aspirated 3.7L V6, which is, well, gone. As a consequence, the new model will be available with a 2.3L turbocharged four-cylinder or the 5.0L V8 one.

However, this is not necessarily a bad thing. The 5.0L V8 engine has suffered several modifications, which now make it considerably more powerful. Also, this one revs higher than any other Mustang GT ever made, which is quite something! This is the first application of the Ford dual-fuel, high-pressure direct injection and the low-pressure port fuel injection on a V8 engine, which makes another premiere in the history of Mustang vehicles.

Considering all of these upgrades and the new designs, the 2018 Ford Mustang definitely stands out from the crowd and can offer an entirely new experience.
