At the first glance the differences might not seem so evident but there were done several enhancements regarding the style and profile of the Italian car. One of the biggest transformations brought to Giulietta would be the modified powertrain which actually completes the performance provided by the engine.
Next week, at the most expected event of this fall, the Alfa Romeo fans will be able to spot the other upgrades which were brought to Giulietta: brand new color alternatives, three different types of wheels in three different sizes and further interior enhancements.
Some say that the current look is a lot more appealing than the previous one. Perhaps this statement was formulated based on the special color offerings: Anodizzato Blue, Bronz and Moonlight Pearl which are brought together with the newly styled front grille. Also, another design detail that completely changes the appearance is the sharper edges which have been paired with a smooth plated chrome frame of the fog lights.
Exactly like many other cars in the same range, 2014 Alfa Romeo Giulietta has been equipped with LED technology both for the headlights and rear lights too. This would be a very efficient improvement as it also contributes to the overall safeness.
The performance figures released so far are quite exciting, Giulietta features a 2.0-liter JTDM engine which includes a second generation MultiJet injection system. Impressive enough, the combination between the two – the brand new powertrain and the 2.0 MultiJet injection system – is reflected in the 150 hp and 280 pound feet of torque. According to these figures, the car should be able to reach 60 mph in just 8 seconds.
There are, of course, a few other engine options available for this new Alfa Romeo model: 1.4 TB MultiAir and 170 hp, 1.6 JTDM-S and 105 hp, 1.4TB and 120 hp and 2.0 JTDM-2 and 140hp.
A straing, base price has not been revealed yet but taking into account the fact that the 2013 model was available at a base price of $27,000, the starting price for this new model should be almost the same.
One of the main competitors of the new 2014 Alfa Romeo Giulietta is the Mini Cooper. Although, it used to lead the market until recently, the Mini Cooper might be taken over by Giulietta as Alfa Romeo has been making serious progress lately and has put a lot of options and powerful features on the new model.
The interior design has been rethought and everything looks smoothly improved and catchy. So whoever chooses this car will definitely choose it for the engine performance and for the luxurious and contemporary features.
