Verna, which will be called Hyundai Solaris in Russia is based on the RB concept and was unveiled at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show and is expected to compete with the likes of Honda City, Fiat, Maruti and even Volkswagen. The previous release of the Verna which was launched a few years ago lacked styling and basic features, but this time Hyundai Verna is ready to create a boom in the market with its exquisite design and unique styling.
The Hyundai Verna comes with four engine options, the 1.4 litre petrol generating maximum power of 106 Bhp with maximum torque of 135 Nm. The 1.6 litre petrol generates maximum power of 122 Bhp with maximum torque of 156 Nm. The 1.4 litre diesel generates maximum power of 90 Bhp with maximum torque of 224 Nm. The 1.6 litre diesel generates maximum power of 126 Bhp with maximum torque of 265 Nm. The engine is matted to a 5 speed manual transmission gearbox, and delivers decent acceleration.
Special care has been taken in the cars styling, and has been developed on an entirely new platform based on the RB concept. It features the signature Hyundai grille which is found in most Hyundai luxury models and the head lights and tail lamps have undergone modifications to give it a distinct and gratifying look. The car also sports L shaped fog lights, which are first of its kind in the C+ segment.
The interiors of the Hyundai Verna are based on the company’s “fluidic sculpture” design philosophy, featuring a very stylish and classy central console with integrated high quality music system and automatic climate control system. The steering has audio controls for the driver’s convenience and the car is loaded with all basic features like power steering, power windows, remote central locking, dashboard integrated music player with mp3 CD support and factory fitted speakers.
Its advanced features include electronically folding rear view mirrors, rear camera with rear view display, cooled glove box and a rear seat armrest. The interiors of the car not only are loaded with cool stuff that offer an ease of access but are also pleasure to the eyes. The delicately designed console and leather seats enhance the vehicle’s beauty.
The comes with a whole host of safety features, including dual SRS front airbags and 3 rear seat belts, ready to protect you in case of a crash. The vehicle also features ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution). The Hyundai Verna also comes with front and rear fog lamps and parking sensors.
